Originally from Portugal, Portuguese Tumblers are regarded as an ancient breed that may have developed from English and French Tumbler pigeons. They have an upright posture, broad chest, and a wide range of colors and patterns. During courtship, males often walk on their toes while puffing out their chests to attract females.
Portuguese Tumbler Pigeons are known for their speed and agility. Unlike rollers, which usually perform repeated backward somersaults, Portuguese Tumblers generally complete one or two flips during flight. Although they are less widely available outside Portugal, their fascinating history and graceful aerial performances make them a valued breed among pigeon keepers and breeders.
